During the process, binders are added in liquid form, where the following factors are critical:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>uniform binder distribution,<\/li>\n<li>optimal mixture quality,<\/li>\n<li>reduced binder consumption,<\/li>\n<li>repeatable mixing results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">A wide range of core sand mixers is available, suitable for both cold and hot curing processes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sand regeneration<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Regeneration of chemically bonded sands after use is highly recommended, as it allows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>significant reduction of material costs,<\/li>\n<li>drastic reduction of waste volumes,<\/li>\n<li>reduced environmental impact,<\/li>\n<li>improved control over sand system quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three regeneration processes are commonly used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">mechanical regeneration (most common),<\/li>\n<li>wet regeneration,<\/li>\n<li>wet\u2013thermal regeneration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Core drying<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">For more demanding castings, cores must be dried after coating application to ensure required mechanical properties and surface quality.<\/p>\n<p>Drying options include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">conventional tunnel dryers (gas- or electrically heated),<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">microwave dryers \u2013 the fastest and most energy-efficient method.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Advantages of microwave drying:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>only the material is heated, not the chamber,<\/li>\n<li>extremely fast process,<\/li>\n<li>no preheating of the dryer required,<\/li>\n<li>for certain binders, material properties are even improved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Core shop exhaust gas treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Modern environmental standards require effective exhaust gas treatment.
